Hi my name is Leigh and I am the face behind Retro Stitch Motor Trimming and Upholstery. I have been in the sewing industry for over 15 years now, 10 of those years in the motor trimming industry and 6 of those years qualified as a motor trimmer.​

Sewing and vehicles have been a passion right from a young age and that passion is what has lead me to this career. I started manufacturing clothing, then moved onto making one of a kind and custom made clothing until I was given the opportunity to join the team at Marlborough Motor Trimmers before finally heading out on my own.​

​

Based in Blenheim, I am so grateful to have been a part of many local projects already as well as projects from as far away as Christchurch, Westport and Wellington. I pride myself on hard work, high quality work, attention to details and providing the best service possible.

 

I am slowly rebuilding a 1981 40 Series Land Cruiser and a 1954 Dodge Fargo (my display vehicle) from the ground up so I can relate to the amount of time, effort and money that goes into each and every project. The highs and lows and the joys that come with it. I love seeing the transformation from how projects come in, to how they leave the shop and it brings me so much joy seeing vehicles I've worked on finally driving down the road or at car shows. I look forward to being a part of many more projects in the future and hopefully having my own project out in the community with them!
